A provide a family-centered approach to therapy. I encourage parents and siblings be involved in the therapy process. We focus on movements between phonemes and practicing each sequence several times in the therapy session. Functionality is also very important. Parents are asked what words they would like the child to be able to say, what words they may need in the school setting, and what the interests of the child are. Working on these words gives the child and parents motivation and helps with improving intelligibility.
