I use a multi-sensory approach including tactile, visual, auditory feedback. The therapy sessions are typically shorter more frequent sessions to allow for mass practice over several sessions per week.
Depending on setting:
School setting- frequent conversations and feedback regarding performance and activities to target at home
Private setting- parents encouraged to attend sessions to see how the prompting is utilized as well as including practice activities for home.
I have used AAC both low and high tech to provide patients with an opportunity to communicate during communication breakdowns as we are developing their speech abilities.
