Overall Treatment Approach:

I use my background in Kaufman word approximations in combination of PROMPT cues to meet children where they're at in terms of speech production and scaffold their success.

Parent Involvement:

I work closely with parents to determine functional word approximations that improve their child's life as soon as possible. I also teach them the cueing systems we use in therapy so that they may implement at home. It is certainly a team approach to treatment.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

Function is so important to me- of course we want our kids with CAS to be intelligible verbal communicators but safety and comfort can be helped NOW with AAC. I am familiar with basic sign language, LAMP, ProLoQuo2Go, and have PECS Level 1 training. I work with the family to find the best fit for them and their child.
