You are the expert on your child so you will be an active team member through out treatment. Treatment for your child will be structured, dynamic, intensive, fun and motivating. Your child will be given as much support needed to learn new movement patterns and make progress. As the parent, you will also participate in parent coaching during therapy and provided with home programs to implement.
Parents are an integral part of therapy planning and intervention. Educational opportunities are available for parents regarding CAS. Parents are able to participate in therapy sessions and home programming for their child. Parents receive feedback regarding progress after every sessions.
AAC can be used simultaneously while addressing verbal communication. If AAC would be beneficial for your child, low and high tech AAC will be trials in therapy to determine the best fit. Multiple types of visual supports may also be beneficial in facilitating communication.
