Because it is difficult for a child to express their thoughts and ideas, speech therapy focuses on imitation and repetition of speech targets to increase their accuracy. Intervention will follow principles of motor learning and evidenced-based therapies. Your child will have models to follow along with to visually see the movements that go with the sounds. We will work on vowels and words. Your child will practice syllables, words and/or phrases, rather than isolated sounds, during speech therapy.
