Overall Treatment Approach:

My focus in therapy is to be family-centered. I encourage the parent to be present in the session and be involved in the treatment program. Therapy focuses on movement of highly functional words for the child and family. The therapy is fun, highly engaging, and focused on the child having success with their speech!

I encourage parents to be present in the therapy session, helping me select functional target words for the child. I focus on teaching the parent how to help their child with their speech at home.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

I have used a variety of AAC options (sign, picture exchange, speech generating devices) with parent permission with children with severe CAS initially in treatment in order to establish a functional form of communication.
