Therapy will consist of short word lists with client specific targets. We will target the specific word list while providing additional production supports that are eventually faded. Initially, a child may benefit from simultaneously production of the words while we provide several cues (i.e. hand gestures, tactile cues, verbal feedback, etc). We work closely with the parent to be involved in learning the supports to help his/her child with home practice activities. Frequent repetition of the same motor movements, same word list, will ultimately support the child in establishing more accurate productions.

In several cases, a child may benefit from a communication device to help communicate wants/needs and ask questions. The device can be beneficial for some children with severe intelligibility challenges to find their voice and reduce communication breakdowns while working towards improved verbal communication.
