Overall Treatment Approach:

When treating a child with CAS or sCAS I use DTTC methods with high repetition and consistent therapy. I prefer play-based child led therapy to encourage high repetitions in a comfortable environment.

Parent Involvement:

I encourage parents to attend my speech therapy sessions as well as provide input on target words that are used commonly in the child’s home and learning environments. Parent education plays a substantial role in the treatment and progression of a child with CAS.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

I have obtained AAC devices through insurance by advocating for my clients. I encourage AAC use simultaneously with speech therapy. I use a total language model (sign, AAC, verbal output) with all of my CAS patients.
