Speech and language services for a child with CAS consists of high repetitions of target words during a structured or semi-structured task. I typically incorporate turn taking games to increase trials. I may also incorporate play based activities depending on the child's age and developmental level to facilitate engagement. During therapy, I use a variety of multimodal cues and prompts to facilitate accurate productions. I also work on prosody by incorporating different visual and models of varied intonation (e.g., happy voice, sad voice, etc.). I typically linking the words we are practicing to visuals or play during games to increase functionality and understanding of the vocabulary.
