My therapy approach is child-lead, play-based therapy focusing on the Principles of Motor Learning. I work with the family to create target words that are meaningful to the child and family and contain sounds within the child's phonetic inventory and are syllable shapes that can be achieved. I use Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing (DTTC) to assist your child in maximizing their communication potential by correctly producing their speech targets that we have created and challenging them to reach new more complex targets once those have been mastered. If your child is in need of additional modes of communication while they tackle motor planning, I implement Augmentative and Assistive Communication (AAC) early and embed it into speech production therapy. My goal is always to reduce frustration and increase fun and functional communication!
