I use the Kaufman Speech Praxis Treatment approach in conjunction with Talk tools Sensory-motor Approach to Apraxia of Speech kit. I shape words approximations to target core vocabulary. This increases the child's motivation, decreases child- parent frustration and improves social and academic success. Once the child's oral movement coordination increases, lengthy and complex word formation and sentences appear. I also believe in total communication. I accept AAC, signing and verbal attempts in my session.
