Overall Treatment Approach:
My therapy focuses on motor planning for speech. I practice target words with children with various levels of support from simultaneous production to spontaneous production. These targeted words act as a vehicle to improve motor planning which generalizes to overall improved speech production. As children improve therapy can also focus on language and specific speech sound errors as needed.
Parent Involvement:
I spend the last part of every therapy session with parents to go over what we are working on and why and to explain what they can do at home to practice.
AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:
I have used AAC with children as a communication tool until verbal speech develops.
