I use a combination of treatment methods to treat the whole child. I enjoy working as a team with parents and other professionals to help the child grow. I love to support language growth while integrating the principals of motor learning to expand speech output. I studied in an advanced course for DTTC method and took PROPMT level 1 and I incorporate both of these tools. I encourage parent/caregiver to be involved and integrate the principals of motor learning into everything I do with children with CAS. I do my best to elicit as many opportunities for successful trials per session and scaling down support to gain generalization as quick as possible all while having fun!
As much as they want! They can sit in the session and if they can't make we will talk by phone or send emails. I will give specific homework and tasks to fit into their everyday lives to help grow their child's speech and language skills.
Children need to feel the power of language and often AAC provides that first for children with CAS whether its PECS, choice boards, Go Talks, ProLoQuo or iPads.
