I provide child-led play based therapy that incorporates the whole family. I focus on establishing a rapport with both the child and the family and providing ongoing education and support to ensure the family feels equipped to carryover skills at home.

It important for parents to understand what CAS is and how we treat it. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child's therapy session as home practice is crucial for progress.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

It's important for children with low intelligibility, specifically with a diagnosis of CAS, to have a means to express their thoughts and ideas to a variety of communication partners. Various augmentative and alternatives modes of communication can support communicative interactions while concurrently treating their CAS. I believe that it's important for children to have access to language and communication across environments, which includes interactions with less familiar individuals. AAC can aid to decrease frustration surrounding communication.
