At Empowering Kids Speech Therapy, we follow the child's lead while incorporating as much practice as possible. We love to play with children during therapy in order to keep them engaged and to build trust between the client and therapist. We know that we need the child to feel comfortable and it is our job to build a positive relationship with the child. Once we have that, we find that the children trust us and are more willing to try the things we are asking of them. We are happy to work one on one with the child, or to have the parent/caregiver in the treatment room. We love when a caregiver is able to be present to learn the strategies we use in treatment to use at home all week with their child.
