My diagnostic and multi-sensory treatment approach address speech motor sequencing breakdowns and development of functional goals. After selecting two to three priorities (phonatory, mandibular, labial, lingual, sequenced, prosody) movements, I pick sound targets and create a functional lexicon for mass practice. I utilize my extensive apraxia training by modeling touch cues, tactile feedbacks, PROMPTs, Dynamic Temporal Tactile Cueing (DTTC), and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) supports. Goals are updated accordingly to ensure progression and generalization. Parents/caregivers can expect ongoing education and involvement in treatment sessions to increase competency for homework practice.
