My therapy sessions are dynamic and engaging. My intervention involves multi-sensory activities to support the movement and coordination of speech producers (e.g. muscles of respiration, lips, tongue) and subsequent production of speech sounds. I believe embedding a child's interests are paramount to their motivation and engagement which allows for ample repetitions of our identified targets. Target words and phrases are chosen based upon a child's interests, functionality to their day and sounds within their current speech sound inventory. I am direct and provide feedback on productions; however, I balance this with sensitivity to the social-emotional challenges that may be encountered as well and partner with families on their journey.
