I have been working specifically with children who have CAS since 2012 throughout the San Diego Unified School District. I have assisted SLPs with their assessment and treatment for CAS, and have worked with many children with CAS at my own school site. I have used play based therapy using various strategies and techniques, such as Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing, to help children with CAS improve their speech and communication.
I will be able to guide parents through how they can assist with helping their children improve and generalize what they've learned in speech therapy.
AAC has been very helpful for my students who are unintelligible due to motor planning concerns. Communication comes first.
