We begin each speech journey with a comprehensive assessment to determine your child's strengths and weaknesses. We then develop a treatment plan with goals to help your child meet their communication goals.

First and foremost I try to build a strong relationship with the child to establish trust, engagement and attention. I encourage parents/caregivers to participate in all sessions if possible. My treatment approach includes principles of motor learning, mass/blocked practice, DTTC and multisensory cueing including verbal, visual, gestural and tactile cues, which are gradually faded as accuracy increases. I use PROMPT cues to provide tactile-kinesthetic cues and provide parent education and practice during sessions. Depending on the child’s specific needs, I incorporate signs, picture communication and alternative communication devices to assist in communication success. I provide each child with a list of functional communication words/phrases to use and incorporate in daily life.
