Once a child is assessed and current level of functioning is determined, it is most important that the clinician makes the child successful which builds the child's confidence and increases verbal output as a result. Specifically, programs should provide frequent and intensive practice. It is also essential that parent education is provided. Parents should have the opportunity to observe therapy and ask questions.
