Overall Treatment Approach:

We offer free 30 minute consultations at our clinic and specialize in PROMPT (PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) treatment. PROMPT is a hands-on tactile-kinesthetic approach to supporting kids to know where their jaw, lips and tongue need to be to make sounds and words. Parents are an integral part of sessions and are given functional words to work on at home after every session.

Parent Involvement:

Parents are involved in all aspects of my treatment. They learn about the Motor Speech Hierarchy and how to look for and understand motor challenges within their child’s speech. Parents receive weekly home practice lexicon targets and report each week on how these words are generalizing. They stay and play in session to observe targets, PROMPT Supports and ask questions. Parents can chose to be taught Parameter PROMPTs to help their child at home as well.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

I am a LAMP AAC Certified Practitioner and our clinic is the only LAMP Certified Center of Excellence in Canada. Our clinic performs AADL-funded assessments for families to receive government funding for AAC devices.
