Overall Treatment Approach:

I provide play based, functional therapy to children with CAS. I work collaboratively with parents to pick words that are meaningful for your family that also help us build word shapes and sounds to help your child be better understood. Parent coaching is an important part of assessment and treatment- we will work together so that you can also understand what is happening with your child's speech, and how to help support them with words and communication.

Parent Involvement:

We will talk together so that you understand what we are doing and WHY we are doing it. You will practice giving cues and meeting your child at the level they are successful for each target.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

Bringing AAC in as a part of treatment is a great step to building communication while we work on speech. I typically use low tech AAC (Core Boards)- we will be using them to highlight our messages. Modelling them for children to show that this is another way we can communicate and share our ideas.
