We are so excited to kick off the month of March and share all of the great things we have been working on with each of you.

Apraxia Kids is THRILLED to share our brand new FREE resource, the Insurance Advocacy Guide! We know how challenging it can be for families to obtain the insurance coverage for their Apraxia Star’s therapy and we are here to help! Our new Insurance Advocacy Guide is an interactive resource that is complete with a glossary of insurance terms, a downloadable list of questions to ask your insurance company, a letter template to send to your insurance company and even a printable notes section to help keep everything organized! Before you have your next conversation with your insurance company, be sure to read through the Insurance Advocacy Guide. We are so thankful to our donors who make it possible for us to create resources like this for our apraxia community.

We also have an exciting opportunity happening this month! Preparations for Apraxia Awareness Month are now in full swing with May just two months away! There is still time to file for a proclamation for Apraxia Awareness Day (May 14th) in your state, providence, city, and/or municipality. If you are interested in filing a proclamation, please fill out our brief survey (link) and we will be in touch regarding next steps. Our 2024 Awareness Month social media calendar is now available on our website and our 2024 Apraxia Awareness T-Shirt and yard sign are available for purchase in our brand new Apraxia Kids store! The new store is filled with exclusive apparel and merchandise to help you show your support for the Apraxia Star in your life. 100% of the proceeds go directly towards helping our apraxia community!

As each of you prepare for Awareness Month, we strongly encourage you to order your FREE Be the Voice kit by April 1st if you are planning an awareness or fundraising event. Each kit can be tailored to your specific needs. Whether you are looking to raise awareness in your child’s classroom or host a fundraising event, we have you covered!

With spring on the horizon, so is the 2024 Walk for Apraxia season! Event registration has opened for many of our Walks with more being added each week. We hope you will register to join us in celebrating our Apraxia Stars this year! We encourage you to share the link with your family, friends, and community to register FOR FREE! By sharing your Walk, you are helping to spread awareness for childhood apraxia of speech as well as helping Apraxia Kids raise funds that are so important to helping our apraxia community. If you don’t see a Walk in your area, contact Apraxia Kids to learn how you can get involved with bringing a Walk to your community!

We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2024 National Conference, taking place July 11-13th in Pittsburgh, PA , is officially open! In addition to our in-person conference, we will once again offer a virtual registration option with limited sessions for those unable to travel. Our priority is to provide this opportunity to as many members of our community as possible. There are a limited number of rooms available at the conference hotel, so we encourage you to register early to take advantage of the special rate. For additional conference information such as registration fees, continuing education credits, and more, please visit our FAQ.
