02 Dec December 2021 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
While reflecting on this past year, I’m reminded about the commitments made by many to help further the mission of Apraxia Kids.
Thanks to your support, we have accomplished so much more than we envisioned as we continued to navigate the uncertainty of this past year. We developed and refined our methods to reach our community, expanded our educational content and resources, and created opportunities for engagement.
Over the last 11 months, we:
- Hosted our first Virtual National Conference, bringing together 825 attendees worldwide to further their education, build local connections, and spread awareness about Apraxia Kids and the programs and services we provide
- Provided support and resources to new families receiving a diagnosis for the first time, updated and grew our SLP directory, created new support groups and added new guides & information to our website for both families and professionals
- Spread awareness throughout our community, walking together in person and virtually to celebrate our Apraxia Stars
- Created resources such as our new Be the Voice kits, downloadable brochures and free learning opportunities through Facebook lives and our website
Although we have accomplished a great deal, we also know so many families are still searching for answers, and we acknowledge it is necessary to expand our future efforts in order to serve more. Your support during this holiday season will enable our organization to increase our reach so that no family has to go through this journey alone. We hope that you will consider a gift to Apraxia Kids to advance our mission.
On behalf of each family impacted by childhood apraxia of speech, I thank you for your continued commitment and generosity to Apraxia Kids. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
