AWARENESS
There are many ways that you can raise awareness in your area! Here are a few examples of how to tell others about childhood apraxia of speech:
- Hold a “Wear Blue” day at school or work
- Order official Apraxia Kids gear from our online store to wear all year long.
- Share your story online using #ApraxiaAwareness
- Take information to your local Rotary Club, Lions Club, or other social club
- Order an Event Kit to table at a community resource fair or outside of a public business like your local grocery store or a library.
- Order a Classroom Kit for resources to help children and teachers understand apraxia.
- Visit our Downloads and Printables for informational materials to email or print and share with others.
- Host a Facebook Live or Zoom meet to discuss your journey as a parent, professional, or person with apraxia.
AWARENESS + FUNDRAISING
Keep it simple or make it a major event! Every effort helps us to support more families struggling with apraxia of speech while also raising awareness. Whether your fundraiser is going to support a Walk for Apraxia or Apraxia Kids in general, we can support you. Here are just a few ideas:
- Partner with a restaurant to host a Dine-to-Donate where a portion of sales is donated to Apraxia Kids
- Order an Event Kit and request paper stars to make a star wall or support stickers for donors to wear
- Hold an event such as a “Jeans Day” at work utilizing our Casual for a Cause stickers.
- Run in a marathon, 5K, or other race and collect donations in honor of child in your life affected by CAS
- Have a carwash or lemonade stand
- Host a direct sales party (Pampered Chef, Usborne Books, LuLaRoe, etc.) with a portion of sales donated to Apraxia Kids

Support a child with CAS by helping their peers and professionals at school understand apraxia. Check out the Apraxia Kids Classroom Awareness Kit available with activities and information for students and teachers.

Invite your friends, colleagues and community members to support Apraxia Kids by creating a display of “I Made the Choice to Be the Voice” Stars.
