I typically utilize Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing as well as Rapid Syllable Transition Treatment. I involve parents in the treatment process and provide parent training during sessions. I have intermediate ability in sign language and often incorporate sign into my treatment sessions. I have extensive experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication and can provide AAC evaluations and treatment if we find this would be appropriate for your child.
I incorporate a significant amount of parent training is incorporated into my sessions. I want parents to know how to support their children with CAS at home so that they can complete homework on the days that they don’t have speech therapy with me. I have found that in general children make much quicker progress if their parents are completing the speech therapy homework with their child at home as well as attending my sessions. I teach parents cueing strategies to support the work at home. Sometimes I will have parents practice techniques in therapy with me present so that I can provide them with feedback to better support their child at home.
I have significant experience with AAC and have intermediate ability with sign language. Typically, I will focus most on the speech aspect of treatment initially and support with sign or high tech AAC if needed. I also perform AAC evaluations in my practice.
