09 Jan January 2025 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
Happy New Year from Apraxia Kids! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season enjoying time with family and friends. As we transition into the New Year, our focus is on creating meaningful connections within our Apraxia Kids community.
This month kicks off our annual 5K Voice Venture! Registration is free with additional tiers to receive a gift or a t-shirt. This is a great way to reach your New Year’s goals as well as raise awareness for CAS. We encourage you to join us and share with your network so others can rally with you along your journey!
On January 12, we invite you to join Star Supporters by Apraxia Kids to connect with other community members. Star Supporters is a live virtual support group that meets on Zoom the second Sunday of every month at 8:00 p.m. EST. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. January’s topic is Siblings, with guest discussion leaders attending to talk about their experiences.
The 2025 Walk for Apraxia Season opens next month. The Walk is our largest fundraising event that celebrates and recognizes our Apraxia Stars for all of their hard work and successes throughout the year. Volunteering to help plan our Walks is a great way to give back to your community. If you are interested in learning more, please complete this survey and we will be in touch. We are also hosting our annual contest for Apraxia Stars to help design the Walk for Apraxia Shirt. Is your Star or their sibling interested? Submit their drawing here!
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for July 9-12 for our 2025 National Conference! We look forward to creating more connections than ever by hosting virtually so that attendees from all over the globe can interact with Apraxia Kids from the comfort of their homes! Scholarships for the 2025 National Conference will open on February 1, 2025.
Apraxia Awareness Month plans are well underway for May. Check out our Awareness page for more information on Apraxia Awareness Month and the different ways you can help spread awareness of childhood apraxia of speech in your community. Once again, we are looking for volunteers to file proclamations in your local state, county, or community to make May 14th Apraxia Awareness Day even more impactful! If you are interested in getting involved this year, follow this link to sign up!
Thank you for your continued support of Apraxia Kids. Your commitment to our mission allows us to develop new programs and resources to share with our entire apraxia community. We look forward to accomplishing great things together as a community this year. If you want to make an impact throughout 2025, consider becoming a monthly donor today!
