I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, creating the optimal environment for learning for children. My treatment approach is tailored to each child, as I give consideration to CAS severity, age, and any co-occurring challenges. My overall approach is guided by the principles of motor learning, and I have attended the following trainings: Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and Introduction to PROMPT. I am familiar with ReST. I also have extensive training and knowledge in AAC and support families throughout the process. Family involvement is critical, ensuring that both the child and their loved ones feel supported and included every step of the way.
Maintaining an ongoing relationship with parents is crucial, as well as ensuring they receive all the support they need to feel confident and informed about every aspect of CAS. The decision for parents to participate directly in sessions is collaborative, made with care and consideration of various factors, always keeping the child's best interests in mind.
I have extensive experience in AAC, including evaluation, funding, procurement, and client training. I am dedicated to supporting families through every step of the process.
