It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to a close and back to school is just around the corner!

NEW THIS YEAR: Our Library Be the Voice Kit: Consider donating this kit to your child’s school library to help others learn about apraxia of speech. This kit includes the “I Want to Be Your Friend” book with lesson plan, the “CAS What’s That” flyer to hang in your library, a Parent Portal flyer to share with other parents looking to learn more about CAS, bookmarks, and activity pages! IEP Roadmap: This tool developed by Apraxia Kids provides detailed information to help you become your child’s best advocate and navigate the IEP process, whether it’s your first or tenth time. Learn more here!
Be The Voice Classroom Kit: Support a child with CAS by helping their peers and professionals at school understand apraxia. Walk for Apraxia: A great way to raise awareness for CAS is to invite your child’s class to participate in the 2024 Walk for Apraxia! Sharing the Walk for Apraxia with your community allows more people to understand CAS and the incredible amount of effort that our Apraxia Stars put in each and every day. Invite them to celebrate your Apraxia Star’s hard work and honor them on walk day! Find your local Walk for Apraxia here!
Online Support Group: Another great resource is other parents! Join one of our Facebook Support groups to ask any question you might have while navigating back to school season! Not only do we have an Official Support group with over 34,000 members, we also have numerous state groups where you may find a family in your area experiencing a similar journey. We also have a group for parents who are homeschooling this year! Find your group here!
NEW Peer-to-Peer Support Group for Tweens and Teens: We recently partnered with Elina Csapo from Young Able Voices to create a zoom support group for tweens/teens ages 12+! This is a great way for Apraxia Stars to connect with each other and make new friends that are on the same journey! Sign your tween/teen up today!
