Overall Treatment Approach:

During a speech therapy session with a child who has childhood apraxia of speech, I utilize activities that interest the child to promote the acquisition of functional words to promote communication outside of the speech therapy room.

Parent Involvement:

If possible, I prefer that parents participate or observe therapy sessions to increase their confidence in positively influencing their child's communication outside of the speech therapy room.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

I have utilized picture cue cards, and picture supports, choice boards, and augmentative/alternative communication devices/apps/programs to help children communicate better in their home and school environments.
