My therapy sessions focus on building a fun and trusting relationship. We play games and do activities that your child enjoys, all while working on their speech sounds. We use toys, books, games, arts and crafts, and songs to help them practice saying new sounds and words. We take our time and go at their pace, making sure they feel comfortable and happy. Through our play together, we help your child learn how to say words clearly and feel confident in their speech. It's all about having fun while helping them grow their speech skills!
Parents play a crucial role in the therapy process. Here's how you can expect to be involved in our work together: Collaborative planning, learning strategies, home practice, providing observation and feedback, and of course, providing support and encouragement. Every child is unique and therapy plans will be individualized. Your involvement is a key factor in the success of therapy for your child.
I've used AAC to provide a bridge to communication. AAC can serve as a visual support, model, and a way in which a child can communicate and have their needs met while they are working on their speech.
