At Little Voices we believe in play-based and child led therapy. When working with a child with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, we incorporate play and having fun into our evidence based strategies and procedures to keep your child engaged while using the most effective therapy techniques for optimal progress in your child's speech production.
Parents and caregivers are a critical part of the therapy process. It is important for parents to understand the strategies and techniques being used in therapy, why are they are being used, and how you can help support your child with carryover of the therapy targets into your everyday life.
I have experience with use of picture symbol systems and high tech augmentative communicate devices to give children access to a less frustrating mode of communication while we work to improve speech intelligibility in therapy.
