03 Mar March 2022 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
Spring is an exciting time at Apraxia Kids, and we are thrilled to share all of the great things we look forward to in the coming months.
We have officially begun to open the 2022 Walk for Apraxia events. We hope you will register to join us as we celebrate our 15th Anniversary of walking, raising awareness, and recognizing our Apraxia Stars. We encourage you to share the link with your network and want to remind you that registration will remain free for all attendees. Your participation in the Walk is important to help strengthen the apraxia community through your ability to touch those beyond our reach and to raise funds to support the programs and resources offered by Apraxia Kids.
Mark your calendars! We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2022 National Conference, taking place at the Westin Lake Las Vegas, will begin on March 14th. We are grateful for our conference to return as an in-person educational experience. However, we will be offering a virtual registration option with modified capabilities for those unable to travel. Our priority is to provide as much of this opportunity as possible to our entire community. We are also pleased to share the hotel link for the Conference. There are a limited number of rooms available at the conference hotel, so we encourage you to register early to take advantage of this special rate. For additional conference information such as registration fees, continuing education credits, and more, please visit our FAQ.
We continue to plan for Apraxia Awareness Month coming in May. Our 2022 Awareness Month social media calendar is now available on our website and our Apraxia Awareness T-Shirt and yard sign are available for purchase. These are great items you can use to spread awareness and show your support of children with CAS. In addition, we encourage you to order your Be the Voice kit by April 1st if you are planning an awareness or fundraising event for May. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of May 14th being declared Apraxia Awareness Day! Be sure to file a proclamation for Apraxia Awareness Day in your state, province, city, and/or municipality to make sure our 10-year event is more successful than ever.
On a final note, you have the opportunity to make an impact on the life of a parent supporting a child with apraxia by donating to our Conference Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to send 30 more individuals to our in-person conference by raising $15,000. The National Conference can be a crucial step in a parent’s journey with apraxia. With your help, we can support even more parents than ever and further the mission at Apraxia Kids.
Please know how appreciative we are of each and every one of you for being part of our apraxia family. I hope that we can count on you to help us make a difference this spring by participating in one or all of our upcoming events.
Thank you for your continued commitment to Apraxia Kids.
Warmest Regards,
Angela Grimm
Executive Director
