Overall Treatment Approach:

My therapy approach is based highly on the interests of the child and family priorities. My first goal is to establish a relationship of trust with the child. With younger kiddos especially, I embed practice into play while encouraging as many trials of a target as possible. I use the principles of motor learning and multi-sensory cueing to support motor planning for speech.

Parent Involvement:

I follow the parents' lead with how active they would like to be in therapy. I welcome input from parents to set priorities and targets for therapy, as well as participation in sessions.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

My ultimate goal for children is to establish reliable communication as quickly as we can. I have frequently included AAC as part of the process - both low and high tech. During therapy, I model without expectation and allow unrestricted access to the system.
