I follow motor learning principles for all of my clients and utilize a combination of approaches, tailored to each child. I incorporate a variety of cueing systems including Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and select target words/phrases that are most functional for each client. I choose sounds the child is already able to produce to build core words and phrases that are important to the family using reinforcement that is of interest to the child. My goal is independent production of functional words as quickly as possible. I do my best to keep therapy fun while pushing the child to work as hard as possible. I pay close attention to the child's needs in the session and ensure the child ends the session feeling confident.
