My therapy sessions work on identifying sounds that are functional for your child and targeting those sounds in various ways to get increased success and grow expressive language. I like to target sounds that can produce functional word approximations and build upon vocabulary skills to improve communication. I incorporating the principles of motor learning and utilize multisensory and dynamic cues and prompts to best support each child's needs. I individualize the approach needed for each child to meet them where they are and support growth, whether that be through using the principles of DTTC or recommending an AAC device in tandem with working on improving verbal output in order to reduce frustration and support speech and language needs.
