03 Jun June 2021 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
It feels like we just kicked off Apraxia Awareness Month! Now June is upon us, and we are celebrating yet another successful May. What an amazing month we had filled with education, resources, awareness, and events. We are so thankful for each of you and your ongoing efforts to spread awareness. By supporting Apraxia Kids in Awareness Month, you are making an impact in the lives of children with apraxia of speech.
We are excited to kick off summer and all of the great things we have planned! Below are just a few things we wanted to share with you.
Our National Conference, taking place virtually July 8-10, has nearly 500 registrants representing more than 12 countries. This year, if you miss a session on July 8, 9, or 10th you will have the unique opportunity to view almost every session throughout the month of July, as they will be recorded and available on demand.
Come hear the most up-to-date information on CAS and connect with others through a variety of different opportunities, such as the Saturday Panel Discussions where attendees can join conversations with experts on specific topics. We have 6 different panel discussions to choose from this year. Other interactive opportunities are available throughout the three days including a Social Meet and Greet, Speaker Q&A’s, Poster Sessions, and a variety of topic rooms scheduled on Friday and Saturday for families and professionals to come together and share ideas around topics such as AAC, Comorbidities, IEPs, Teletherapy, Literacy, and much more.
If you have not registered yet, we encourage you to do so today. Registration closes on June 23rd – no registrations will be accepted after this date!
We are thrilled to announce that some of our Walk for Apraxia events will be in person this fall. New details are being announced daily! Please visit our Walk for Apraxia page to find a walk closest to you. Remember, registration for the Walk is FREE.
No matter what the Walk looks like in your area, we want you and your Apraxia Star to be a part of it and to have the chance to be celebrated for all of their hard work! For every Walk, you can choose how you want to participate if celebrating virtually is still the best fit for your family!
As we look to the summer and fall, we encourage you to continue making an impact. Spreading apraxia awareness does not happen only in May, it happens year round. Simple things such as sharing your story on social media, joining your local Walk for Apraxia, sharing our resources with another family, your child’s teachers, or your SLP, and supporting our organization financially all make an impact. With your help, more people will know what apraxia means and understand how they can support our Apraxia Stars.
Thank you for being our partner and for your continued commitment to our organization!
