One of my passions as a speech therapist is helping a child find their words. I believe that children learn best through play. Children will work hard if they are having fun and that’s where the therapy magic happens! My therapy approach is about meeting children where they’re at and helping them build confidence to approach new challenges in therapy.
Parents play a pivotal role in my therapy sessions. Home practice is an important step in the therapy process. I often have parents observe my sessions and I will also train parents in various therapy strategies to help their children practice their speech at home.
I have experience with low and high tech AAC. I have worked with a variety of AAC systems including TD Snap, Proloquo2Go, and TouchChat. I find that AAC is a helpful tool for children who need additional support with their communication skills.
