Assessment
Francine conducts a comprehensive, dynamic assessment that looks at all components of speech and language because we know CAS involves more than just speech sounds.
Diverse
Francine uses a combination of evidenced based therapies and adapts them to meet the skill level and needs of each child.
Experienced
Francine brings more than four decades of experience to every therapy session. She created her own intervention program using syllables imbedded in thematic units that incorporate the most effective intervention strategies.
Dynamic
A successful therapy program needs to change and adapt with the child. Francine uses a dynamic approach to therapy collecting data at each session to track progress so she can make changes to keep pace with the child’s growth.
Personal
Each child is special. Their treatment plan should be too. Francine develops personalized treatment plans based on the child’s specific communication profile and interests. Speech therapy is hard work for little ones. Sessions are filled with a variety of high interest activities to help keep them focused and motivated.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to educate themselves about CAS and use this knowledge to help advocate for their child at home, school, and among family and friends. Parents are active participants in the therapy sessions so they can use the techniques and strategies at home. Instead of ‘practice drills’, Francine helps parents identify ways therapy can be embedded into the daily routines of life.
Parents are often the ‘voice’ for children who struggle to speak. In therapy, we work together to help each child find their own voice.
Francine uses a variety of AAC options depending on the skills and needs of the child including:
