My treatment approach is heavily motor-based and language rich, and is exclusively offered via virtual therapy. My therapy incorporates Principles of Motor Learning in naturalistic activities such as stories, puzzles, crafts and games. This ensures that speech practice is embedded in naturalistic language. I am so passionate about using books and games in therapy, that I authored a children’s picture book all about speech sounds, and am in the process of creating a board game to go with it!
Party Animals! is a collection of captivating and playfully illustrated speech poems that each highlight a different speech sound. The back of the book contains additional information for parents, teachers, therapists and educators regarding speech sound development and production.

Parents are encouraged to be present in almost all of my therapy sessions. I spend time demonstrating the activities, and often have them directly participate during sessions. Activities from the therapy session, are often assigned for homework which facilitates continuity and successful home practice.
My direct experience with AAC is limited, and this is an area of practice under development. For the moment, I defer to experts in this area, and refer children to Bloorview Kids, a local center well versed in AAC. We incorporate the AAC into our therapy sessions and the child's home life based on their recommendations.
