Overall Treatment Approach:

I work with bilingual students so I have to assess in both languages. Once I determine proficiency, I will start using target movement sounds in functional words using motivational fun activities. Once the movements are more developed in first language, I will transfer those movement to words in Second Language. I use cognate works (similar words) in both languages to ensure faster transfer.

Parent Involvement:

Parents are needed for generalization of the speech movements. So I will tell you what word you will practice at home during daily routines and how are you going to give feedback to your child to facilitate those movements.

AAC Use/Implementation Expertise:

We want your child to communicate! Specially when the child is non verbal, I may use simultaneously with verbal production , an Augmentative-Alternative communication device to generate autonomy and to give a consistent auditory model.
