After a thorough evaluation I formulate a treatment plan that addresses the level of severity of the apraxia and any coexisting speech
problems. I use the principles of motor learning, structured therapy programs and child-centered activities to develop the most effective therapy sessions. Goals and targets are chosen to address appropriate levels of speech production for the individual child, while incorporating functional and enjoyable communication. Whenever possible, caregivers are encouraged to observe sessions while learning strategies to facilitate speech production.
