Following a comprehensive assessment of a child's speech production skills (including articulation, phonological and motor speech skills), a comprehensive treatment plan is developed. Parents are an integral part of the assessment and treatment planning process so that the plan incorporates g targeted words that are functional for the child and easy to carryover into other environments. The program offers highly specialized therapy that includes family education and opportunity for immediate student success through a highly specialized, structured treatment approach.
Throughout the treatment process, I use a very family-centered approach. A child's family involvement does not stop after the assessment process, as parents are always invited into their child's session. Parental involvement is paramount tor their child's success, from providing input into targeted functional words, within the child's motor programming level, that can be easily practice throughout the child's day during daily routines.
For communication purpose, AAC (low and/or high tech) can be an integral component for all children with speech-language concerns. Use of AAC provide the opportunity for the child to experience communicative success, allows for learning and socio-emotional growth, while his/her motor speech skills emerge/develop/improve.
