I believe that the best way to proceed is to meet the child where they are at, consider their individual differences and learning style to develop a plan that makes sense to best meet their needs and family goals.
I prefer to have parents actively engaged in the sessions and the process.
I incorporate AAC in therapy using low tech initially moving to high tech as needed dependent on the needs of the client.
