I have had the opportunity to work with the pediatric population for 19 years. Therapy for children with CAS needs to be motivating and functional. I often create a list of high frequency words that will best help the child communicate. Therapy sessions for young children are play based but target specific movement patterns and high frequency words. For older children, therapy includes more structured activities but with motivating activities to work towards each session. I provide verbal, visual, and tactile cues based on what each child needs to achieve his/her best productions.
