I use a evidenced based multi-sensory approach which incorporates the use of PROMPT to facilitate motor -kinesthetic awareness along with visual and auditory cues. I focus on using functional words that will target specific movement patterns. Therapy is tailored to each individual child and typically focus on imitation of speech sounds and syllables, developing and enhancing motor speech movement patterns, promoting utterance lengths by increasing length and complexity of speech patterns. Therapy strategies always incorporate remediation of other speech and language disorders that may be present with Apraxia.
