I strive to integrate a child's interests into therapy activities, as well as making target sounds/words relevant and functional. My therapy technique focuses more on positive reinforcement, and I often describe it as saying "yes" (most of the time) with some conditions. In other words, whatever is engaging and motivating to the child is incorporated into therapy activities as long as the child is able to work toward their goal. I also use a motor based approach (DTTC) and incorporate the principles of motor learning during treatment. I am also experienced in using the ReST (Rapid Syllable Transition) for children who are older (at least 4 years of age) and have more of a mild-moderate CAS diagnosis.
