Inspiring Communication thru Adaptation & Nurturing, known as “iCan” was founded to help children communicate to their highest potential. Children learn through play and will work harder for someone they know truly cares about them. iCan is a place where families feel supported in their journey in helping their child. As a team, together, we can help your child reach his or her greatest potential! For I believe, it is a very powerful thing when a child realizes “iCan” appropriately communicate and impact my world! My overall treatment to CAS is founded in motor-learning principles layered with language and phonological awareness. Each child with CAS learns differently and therefore requires a child specific treatment approach. I incorporate multi-sensory cueing, integral stimulation, phonetic placement, tactile facilitation, prosodic facilitation and/or gestural cueing based on what the child's needs are and what he or she responds to best. I am also familiar with assistive technology for those children that need a device until verbal speech is acquired. This can range from picture communication symbols, to the use of communication apps that allow for sentence generation.
