Child-centered sessions using multi-sensory cuing, including tactile-kinesthetic prompts (such as PROMPT). DTTC methodology, use of core vocabulary, and augmenting oral speech with AAC.
Parents should be highly involved in the therapy process, including assisting with target selection and carrying over target practice to increase generalization.
As a LAMP Certified Professional, implementation of AAC is essential for my patients with CAS. This includes:- comprehensive AAC evaluations, with trial periods for teaching/learning + data collection- assisting families with the funding process / writing funding packets for SGD when recommended - implementing AAC therapy, consistent with the principles of the LAMP approach - coaching other professionals, such as school teams and ABA therapists
