In-Depth Assessment over multiple sessions avoids fatigue and fully identifies
strengths and status. Referral made to appropriate specialists
Parent present in multiple phases of assessment and therapy sessions
in order to develop and strengthen our skill in the following:
Building upon strengths
Focus: motor planning and speech sound sequencing
Elicit targets through multiple pathways:
*target speech sequences shared across settings
*highly motivational home carryover activities, conversation starters, tasks, projects
*parents consistent use of specific cueing and modeling
*link therapy to literacy goals of child
Parents are trained from the beginning for cueing, strategies, rationale and interrelationships of CAS progress with other goals. Parents are enlisted to provide school based reading materials/ workbooks, assignments as a support for phonological awareness through speech goals.
As warranted by each child's needs, have use LAMP words for life, home intervention sticker pictures for elicitation and carryover, simple recording/playback device as part of a play sequence.
